Suero comes back to Soles

Soles de Santo Domingo (LNB) strengthened their roster with addition of experienced 36-year old double-passport holder American 196cm small forward Gerardo Suero (college: Albany). It is actually his comeback to Santo Domingo as he has played here before. He moved there from Brillantes in Venezuelan SPB league where he started the season, but the plans were changed. In 10 SPB games he just recently played he recorded very impressive stats: 18.4ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.0spg.
He represented Dominican Republic at the FIBA World Cup 2023 Americas Qualifiers two years ago. Suero's team got to the Semifinals and he had 12 points per game.
Suero is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Latin America and of course North America) in seven different countries. He has played previously professionally also in Colombia (Academia and Toros), Dominican Republic (Mauricio Baez, Cupes, Dosa, La Villa and Pueblo Nuevo), France (JA Vichy), Puerto Rico (Vaqueros, Cariduros, Osos and Criollos), Spain (Breogan Lugo), Uruguay (Suerobraica) and Venezuela (Guaiqueries and Marinos).
Among many awards his team won Dominican Republic TBS League Group A Regular Season in 2024. He was also voted to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Republic TBS Domestic Player of the Year back in 2021.
It may be one of last seasons in his extensive career, which he may end at Soles.
Suero graduated from University at Albany in 2012 and it will be his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season in pro basketball.
